This program, originally initiated and run by Jimmy Heath, has a distinguished roster of graduates including Antonio Hart, Darren Barrett, Miles Griffith, Jeb Patton, and Diego Urcola. The tuition and fees, by virtue of their affiliation with the City University of New York, run about a third of the cost of other New York programs. Courses offered include: Arranging and Composition 1 and 2, Jazz History, Advanced Jazz Improvisation, Combo Workshop, Jazz Ensemble, Historical Ensembles, Independent Study, Private Instruction and Music Business. Courses in the classical program, as well as in the College at large, are also available. |
