The Brooklyn Conservatory of Music offers a strong foundational music curriculum in history, theory, eartraining, and keyboard, along with private lessons and a wide variety of ensembles that includes chorus, orchestra, jazz, and contemporary ensembles. But many music students come to Brooklyn College for the top-ranked liberal arts education they receive,
including interdisciplinary opportunities such as those offered through the Performance and Interactive Media Arts Program and other fields. The conservatory offers more than 150 public concerts per year, presented by students and faculty, often in collaboration with musical organizations from around the New York metropolitan area.
Part of the CUNY system, Brooklyn College gives the master's students the opportunity to take one or more of their seminars at other senior colleges or at the CUNY Graduate Center, the doctorate-granting institution of CUNY. |
